An MVP should be small. It should not be disposable. We cut scope aggressively and keep the bones — identity, data model, deploy path — honest enough that success does not require a rewrite.
Two weeks of discovery. A written bet. A release you can put in front of users. Then a decision to iterate, pause, or staff a dedicated team.
The hard middle
Plenty of teams can prototype. Plenty of teams can maintain a mature platform. The expensive stretch is the year after first revenue, when the shortcuts start to collect interest. That is where a software farm with product discipline earns its keep: hardening, packaging, onboarding, and the second and third surfaces the market now wants.
