A stable team that learns your domain instead of rotating off it
Capacity without a six-month hiring cycle
One accountable lead, not a roster of uncoordinated contractors
The option to grow, shrink, or transfer the team over time
The software farm model, in practice
A dedicated development team is the core offer of a software farm. You do not buy a project plan and hope the people behind it remain. You get a named squad that stays on the product, learns the domain, and is measured on the roadmap, not on hours invoiced in isolation.
Compared with staff augmentation, you get composition and leadership — a team that already knows how to work together. Compared with a fixed project, you get continuity after the first release. Compared with hiring, you get months back.
Octobreze staffs pods around a lead engineer or product engineer, then fills design, frontend, backend, mobile, and quality as the work requires. The team joins your Slack, your repos, your standups if you want them, or we run the cadence and you join the reviews.
When a dedicated team beats a project bid
Project bids look tidy on a statement of work and then collide with a living product. Roadmaps move. Users surprise you. Integrations take longer than the RFP admitted. A dedicated team absorbs that without restarting procurement.
Choose this model when you have more than one quarter of work, when the product is the company, or when you need a team that will still be there after launch to operate and iterate.
How we staff and start
We begin with the work, not a bench dump. After a scoping conversation we propose a pod shape — typically three to eight people — with names, seniority, and a start date. A short paid discovery or inception week aligns rituals, access, and the first increment.
You can interview the lead. If the chemistry is wrong, we restaff. The farm's job is a team you would hire if the market let you, not a seat filled at any cost.
Governance without theater
You get a single commercial relationship, a single delivery lead, and reporting that matches how product teams already work: burn-up against the increment, quality signals, and risks in writing. We do not invent a PMO to justify the retainer.
Security, NDAs, and background checks are available to match your vendor process. IP assignment is standard.
Questions
How is a dedicated team different from staff augmentation?+
Augmentation fills seats on your org chart. A dedicated team arrives as a working unit with a lead, a way of shipping, and accountability for a slice of the product. You still have transparency; you do not have to manage every individual as if they were a new hire.
What is the minimum engagement?+
Dedicated teams are built for at least a quarter. Shorter work belongs in a scoped build. Most clients stay because the team already knows the product.
Can the team work in our time zone?+
Yes. We overlap with US, UK, and EU hours as the engagement requires, with a named lead available in your working day.
